ECPR Holiday Giving: Carrying Hope

ECPR supports numerous nonprofits all year long, and at the holidays our team combines efforts around one organization. Past holiday giving projects have focused on SafePlace and the Austin Children’s Shelter, among others.

This year ECPR teamed up with a new nonprofit, Carrying Hope.

Carrying Hope is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a goal of giving a Hope Pack to each child who enters the foster care system in Central Texas. A Hope Pack is a backpack, duffel or diaper bag filled with comfort items and essentials intended to help ease the transition for children who are entering a new foster home. When children enter the foster care system, they frequently arrive at their new foster home without a thing.

Our staff spent the past few weeks handpicking items for Carrying Hope. Now the organization will use our donations to assemble Hope Packs and distribute them to foster care agencies and CPS caseworkers to share with children when they’re placed in new foster homes.

The number of children in the state’s foster care system is at an all-time high. ECPR is proud to support this worthy organization and to provide a bit of comfort to foster children and teens in Central Texas.
