Elizabeth Christian Public Relations (ECPR) celebrates the holiday season each year by choosing a nonprofit to support. ECPR staff has contributed to organizations such as Carrying Hope and Meals on Wheels in the past. This year, ECPR is spreading cheer by offering support to Austin Police Operation Blue Santa, a nonprofit staffed by volunteers and employees of the Austin Police Department, and SAFE Alliance, an organization created by the merger of two long-standing local human service agencies.
Operation Blue Santa has provided gifts and toys to Austin-area children and their families since 1972. Through Operation Blue Santa’s “Adopt a Family” program, ECPR chose to collect gifts for a very special 85-year-old woman, who was recently widowed and in need of a bit of joy this season. ECPR delivered specially selected gifts and made a new friend in the process.
For SAFE, the organization resulting from the combined Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace, ECPR collected and delivered donations that will benefit survivors of child abuse, sexual assault, and exploitation and domestic violence.
The holidays are the perfect time to reflect on how to make life better for others. With the help of these organizations, the ECPR team is happy to do our part to help make this season a bit brighter for the Austin community.
