What is the ideal length for online content?

Do you ever wonder what the appropriate length is for a Facebook post? What about a blog post or an email subject? If so, SumAll.com’s recent infographic (also below) details the ideal length for online content.

When drafting content and materials on behalf of clients, it’s essential to capture the reader’s attention and convey the client’s message in a swift manner—the best content is not only concise, but engages the reader quickly.

Here are a few examples of preferred lengths for client and/or personal communications:

  • Email subject lines should be no more than 28-39 characters
  • URL domains shouldn’t exceed eight characters
  • Article titles should be limited to 55 characters
