“How do you measure a year in the life?”

I’ve missed many things this year, from hugging my mom to seeing friends at events. I’ve also missed live music and shows. One of my long-time favorite musicals is “Rent,” where they ask:

“How do you measure a year in the life?”

That’s a hard thing to do in a typical year; it’s almost impossible looking back on an extraordinary time like 2020. We’ve lost and learned so much.

I think they had the right idea in “Rent,” though, when they suggested we “measure the year in love.”

Rather than size up the last 12 months by tallying all we’ve lost or even lessons learned, I’d rather count my blessings for the people I’ve been lucky enough to love. Here at ECPR, that includes you. We love you.

We’re grateful to work with you, and we wish you the best as we look ahead to brighter days in 2021.

Kristin Marcum is the president at ECPR.
