For more than 25 years, ECPR Texas has worked for clients that impact Austin and the surrounding region. We’re proud of our work across a broad spectrum of industries and initiatives. From helping clients win at the legislature to handling crises to helping Austin launch its first professional sports franchise, we have the experience it takes to get the job done.

Our work

The Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI) is a leading center of educational expertise and resources for Texas students who are blind, visually impaired or Deafblind. TSBVI works in partnership with schools, families, communities, and organizations to transform outcomes for students. Like many educational institutions across the country, TSBVI was faced with critical staff shortages and a lack of new applicants. TSBVI began working with ECPR Texas in January 2023.

Shalom Austin wanted to increase membership and plan a number of key stakeholder events for the grand opening of their newly renovated Dell Jewish Community Center, a more than $25-million investment.
The organization’s goals required ECPR Texas’ assistance with community engagement and event coordination, along with a media strategy to make the biggest splash possible.

Ballet Austin engaged ECPR Texas in strategic public relations support for the dance company’s 2022/23 Season, including Ballet Austin’s 60th Anniversary Production of The Nutcracker and Stephen Mills’ Light / The Holocaust & Humanity Project. From the start, this season presented a number of unique opportunities for earned media, corporate partnerships and community activations beyond a traditional season.

The Texas Library Association (TLA) hired ECPR Texas in January 2022 and our solution was to form a grassroots coalition called Texans for the Right to Read and execute a public information campaign in opposition to the current push by Texas’ elected officials to ban books from Texas libraries. The goal of this coalition was to bring enough awareness to the issue that should it end up in the 88th Texas legislative session, there would be organized opposition ready to act.

ECPR is proud to represent Google and Google Fiber in Texas. We provide a variety of services that support Google’s public policy initiatives throughout the state, including media outreach, messaging, event coordination and relationship building. ECPR works with Google Fiber on media outreach, community relations and marketing initiatives in Austin and San Antonio. We have also worked with the Google Self-Driving Car project (now called Waymo).

The Children’s Hospital Association of Texas (CHAT) has turned to ECPR during several legislative sessions to highlight its advocacy work on behalf of the eight nonprofit children's hospitals statewide that treat the state’s sickest and most vulnerable children.
ECPR helps CHAT “move the needle” at the Texas Legislature by providing communications support, including social media, e-newsletters to lawmakers and supporters, materials for legislators and media outreach. Strategic outreach is based on lawmakers' hometowns and the locations of the eight member hospitals.

In the first quarter of 2018, ECPR conducted a communications audit, including interviews with board members and staff, a membership survey, and thorough analysis of communication assets and digital channels, including messaging and branding. Feedback from the audit was then implemented in ABoR’s communications strategy.

MLS2ATX was formed in October 2017 with the mission of bringing Major League Soccer to Austin, TX. In order to do so, Austin City Council would have to authorize a deal to build a soccer stadium somewhere in the city. MLS2ATX became the mechanism through which local soccer fans were informed and organized to let City Council know that Austin wanted soccer.

Texas Mutual is on a mission to make Texas a safer, more productive place to work. ECPR works with the company to promote a message of workplace safety using several communication tools, including video.

ECPR has worked with the Foundation to increase awareness for the Texas Legislature to create additional funding streams for civil legal aid. To further the effort, ECPR has organized several press conferences at the Capitol with leaders of the Access to Justice community, members of the Texas Supreme Court and Texas legislative leaders.

In March 2021, ECPR received a phone call from the Austin Chamber of Commerce looking for a couple of months of media relations help as they searched for a new internal communications lead. Given ECPR’s close relationship with the Chamber, we were happy to help one of the most valued and respected organizations in the region bridge the gap for a few months.

Each year, ECPR Texas works in close partnership with the Downtown Austin Alliance on a number of initiatives. Most recently, we helped spread the story of Republic Square, a newly revitalized public space in downtown Austin that the Alliance manages. Other key programs include media outreach and coordination for promoting the vision for downtown, “Our Austin Stories” (detailing the history of parks in downtown Austin), a parking strategy initiative geared to improving parking challenges, Austin’s innovation district, as well as enhancements for Congress Avenue.
