JW Marriott Austin Now Accepting Guest Room Reservations

JW Marriott Austin announced today that the hotel is now accepting guest room reservations. The hotel will open earlier than previously announced, with the first guests checking in on Feb. 13, 2015.

Upon completion, the 34-story hotel will not only be the largest hotel in Austin, but also the largest JW Marriott in the United States and the second-largest JW Marriott in the world.

The public areas of the hotel, including the lobby, restaurants, bars, Starbucks, meeting spaces, pool and fitness center are now 80 percent complete. The drywall throughout the tower is 99 percent complete, and the lobby of the hotel is now weather-tight and climate controlled. Over the next few weeks, the hotel will begin putting the finishes on the lobby including a ceiling and floor pattern that features a topographical map of Austin.

Additionally, temporary elevators on the exterior of the building have been removed, and permanent service elevators are up and running.

“It is exciting to reach the point in this process where we are able to begin accepting individual room reservations,” Scott Blalock, general manager of the JW Marriott Austin, said.

“We are putting the finishing touches on the spaces our guests will enjoy the most, and we are proud to be one step closer to providing Austin with this superb hotel for everyone.”
