For the second year, Elizabeth Christian Public Relations has the honor of working with Amplify Austin on their public relations. In its inaugural year, the effort raised nearly $3 million in a 24-hour giving period. This year, Amplify’s goal is even bigger.
I Live Here, I Give Here — the organization behind Amplify Austin — is challenging Austinites to raise $4 million in 24 hours. It would be a great feat and such a benefit to all the deserving nonprofits in our area.
Our ECPR team has also been working hard on this event — waking up early to coordinate live shots and interviews and letting media know about the various nonprofit events happening during Amplify’s 24 hours. Here’s an example of some pre-event media coverage of Amplify. The first line says it all, “Amplify Austin has arrived.”
Even though I’m not on our Amplify account team, I am certainly still going to participate in the event. I remember the excitement from last year of watching each nonprofit’s total rise and how thrilling it was once Amplify surpassed its original goal. I can’t wait to see what happens this year!
Austin has many exciting events in the early part of the year, and I’m so happy that Amplify has become one of the staples. The 24 hours begins March 20, at 6 p.m. and ends on March 21, at 6 p.m. I hope you all participate this year and help Amplify Austin reach its goal.
